Home
September 21st, 2010We are home now and have many great memories of our once in a lifetime trip and lots of pictures. Rich only posted a small portion) The doggies are getting used to living in the big house again and so are we. Now we have to decide what we want to do with the rest of our retirement. Thanks for traveling along with us. Take care.

Alamogordo New Mexico
September 14th, 2010Hello again,
It has been awhile and I know I am behind in letting you all know how we are faring. The RV is fixed and we have left Needles Ca. and spent a few days in Casa Grande at a really nice RV Park and Senior Living community. They had a lot of manufactured homes with a community center with a pool, tennis courts, pickle ball courts and lots of activities for us old folks (except WIFI). They have the nicest dog parks of any place that we have been. They are gated with large grassy areas and lighted at night. I think the park had at least 3 of them. Cinnamon and Pumpkin got to meet a number of dogs. It was fun watching them interact with new friends. It was quiet while we were they because most of the residents leave for the summer and had not returned yet and it was hot. We also took some time to check out the surrounding senior living communities. We went to 2 Robson places both were nice but one was abit too expensive they both had beautiful accommondations. It is fun to see how others are enjoying life but I think Rockwall is still the place for me. We arrived in Alamogordo NM yesterday and spent today visiting and shopping in Ruidoso, touring a pistachio and wine farm in Alamogordo and walking in the white sand in the White Sands National Mon. we are headed to Carlsbad tomorrow and expect to be home Saturday. Well I guess are trip of a lifetime is winding down and soon it will be time for us to decide what we want to do with our free time. Even with all this time off work I don't feel retired yet. It has been just a really long vacation. I am looking forward to coming home I miss it and all of you. See you soon.

Flagstaff
September 3rd, 2010Well we are in Flagstaff but our RV is still in Needles. It won't be fixed until next Thursday or Friday as they have to wait on parts. So we drove to Flagstaff because there is nothing to do in Needles. We are staying in a motel and can't leave the dogs so we can only do things where we can take the dogs. It is cooler here and this room is bigger then the one in Needles so things are looking up. I miss all the green grass of home but we are glad that they will be able to fix the RV without having to put in a whole new engine. Plus it was a good thing we had our car with us. It is strange but I feel homeless I can't imagine how the truely homeless survive. We get spoiled so easily. In another week we will be back on the road good as new and this will be just an interesting story of a few weeks of our trip. Bye for now

Needles Ca
August 30th, 2010Well we did not make it to Laughlin NV. We got within 40 miles and the engine light came on and we had to pull onto the shoulder. The engine would start but it was not going to keep going so we called Good Sam roadside service. Sure am glad we bought a membership prior to this trip. They were very helpful and got us towed to a RV park in Needles it is a nice place but it is in the middle of nowhere. This is desert hot, dry, and not much around here. Since this happened on the week-end we have to wait until Monday morning to get someone out to determine what the problem is. We are hoping they can fix it here at the rv park and not have to tow it into a shop(not sure where the nearest repair shop for RV's might be.) Hope it doesn't take long to get fixed as Rich, I, and the dogs will be lost without our home and I am not sure how well a Motel will work for the dogs. I am sure that everything will work out..... will know more in the morning. I will let you know how we fair on my next post. Take care

San Dimas
August 28th, 2010We stayed 3 nights in a beautiful state park in San Dimas and got to visit with Brian. It was nice to see the sites and Brian's i phone skills really helped navigate the traffic. Brian is still busy wheeling and dealing. LA is way different..... too busy a place to want to live there. The RV park has nightly visits of skunks and rabbits which kept Cinnamon busy. We are now on the road to Laughlin Nv. I plan to gamble a little and on to Flagstaff and the Grand canyon.
