Flagstaff
September 3rd, 2010Well we are in Flagstaff but our RV is still in Needles. It won't be fixed until next Thursday or Friday as they have to wait on parts. So we drove to Flagstaff because there is nothing to do in Needles. We are staying in a motel and can't leave the dogs so we can only do things where we can take the dogs. It is cooler here and this room is bigger then the one in Needles so things are looking up. I miss all the green grass of home but we are glad that they will be able to fix the RV without having to put in a whole new engine. Plus it was a good thing we had our car with us. It is strange but I feel homeless I can't imagine how the truely homeless survive. We get spoiled so easily. In another week we will be back on the road good as new and this will be just an interesting story of a few weeks of our trip. Bye for now

Needles Ca
August 30th, 2010Well we did not make it to Laughlin NV. We got within 40 miles and the engine light came on and we had to pull onto the shoulder. The engine would start but it was not going to keep going so we called Good Sam roadside service. Sure am glad we bought a membership prior to this trip. They were very helpful and got us towed to a RV park in Needles it is a nice place but it is in the middle of nowhere. This is desert hot, dry, and not much around here. Since this happened on the week-end we have to wait until Monday morning to get someone out to determine what the problem is. We are hoping they can fix it here at the rv park and not have to tow it into a shop(not sure where the nearest repair shop for RV's might be.) Hope it doesn't take long to get fixed as Rich, I, and the dogs will be lost without our home and I am not sure how well a Motel will work for the dogs. I am sure that everything will work out..... will know more in the morning. I will let you know how we fair on my next post. Take care

San Dimas
August 28th, 2010We stayed 3 nights in a beautiful state park in San Dimas and got to visit with Brian. It was nice to see the sites and Brian's i phone skills really helped navigate the traffic. Brian is still busy wheeling and dealing. LA is way different..... too busy a place to want to live there. The RV park has nightly visits of skunks and rabbits which kept Cinnamon busy. We are now on the road to Laughlin Nv. I plan to gamble a little and on to Flagstaff and the Grand canyon.
Carson City
August 21st, 2010We spent 3 nights in Carson City Nevada it is a very nice place to visit. It is close to Reno, Lake Tahoe and Virginia City and we visited all of them and left money there both gambling and shopping. I did win 50 bucks in Reno though. The water in Lake Tahoe was cold but clear and beautiful and the weather was nice around 80. We played golf, gambled, shopped and celebrated my birthday Lahoma put trick candles on the cake but the wind gave them away before I wasted too much breath which at 64 in limited. Getting too old to celebrate birthdays but we had fun. We left Carson City this morning after sad farewells to Lahoma, Bill and Gloria. We just arrived in Chowchilla CA. at 2 today and the Venable crew should arrive in Lone Pine Ca this afternoon before crossing Death Valley. The RV park here is the best one yet even the dog park has excellent grass which is nice because the last one was full of burrs which tormented the doggies. They are napping now because the road to here was so winding(2 1/2 hrs) that sleep going down the road was out of the question. We are close to Yosemite and Sequoia redwood national parks and golf is included in the price so we are planning on staying 3 nights. The Wifi is good so maybe Rich can catch up with Photos and the trip journal while I catch up with the laundry. The golf course is class AAA 7329 from the tips and 18 is an island green par 5.....Bill would have hated it all dogleg lefts and 14 holes with water.
Talk again soon

Novato
August 17th, 2010We are now in Novato about 20 miles north of San Francisco. We went to the Sonoma wine country and Cresent City yesterday. Bill got to see the area where he lived when he started school and I got to do some wine tasting and see the vineyards. For dinner we went to a Mexican restaurant so Gloria and Lahoma could get their Mexican food fix. Today we went on a tour of San Francisco where Rich and Lahoma were able to get a few good pictures. We had a van pick us up at the RV park and the driver did an excellent job of taking us around the city and explaining all the sights. Fisherman's Wharf has certaintly changed in the 40 years since we were here last. We will be traveling to Carson City Nevada tomorrow for a few days and then Rich and I will be going on to LA to visit with Brian while Bill, Lahoma and Gloria will start heading toward Texas. It has been a great trip there has been so much to see and do and I am sure I will enjoy the pictures for years to come. Bye for now.
